Comfortable beds, great location, available parking though very expensive.
Expensive parking. Small room. No table. No armchairs. Nonexistent air conditioning. Rooms could really use ceiling fans when the weather is warm.
The hotel was close to the meeting place and the hotel staff were professional
The rooms are too small and everything seemed old and tired
Staff was mostly very unpleasant hardly answered to basic questions, when asked about parking hours at the street they hardly answered and obviously referred to their 32$ a day parking . Bathrom was very small in standard room with partially broken shower head with very low water pressure , when asked to fix it they igonred it and only allegedly fixed it but actually hardly handeled it.
The location of the hotel was perfect during the conference.
There was a used pizza box in the room when I checked in. No idea how old it was! Also very few outlets!
Easy overall for downtown activities.
Parking. Not only is the price high, but it was not clear that the $32 a day did not cover 24 hours. We would have parked elsewhere had we known this. Such a policy does not serve those attending all day conferences well at all.
I've stayed there before. It is very near the Convention Center and much better value than the conference hotel. While the rooms are small, they are very comfortable and clean. I appreciate the Pickwick is earth friendly and re-uses towels and sheets.
The staff was quite friendly and accommodating. We had a room for one night and were not able to sleep due to its location by the service alley. We were upgraded to a much nicer room and enjoyed the convenience of location to the transit system and the shops. Very impressive!
Thin walls, water pressure not consistent, mattress boxsprings seemed plastic, DirectTV was not working most of our stay, internet connection slow
I wanted easy access to sfmoma, cjm and shopping on Market Street. The Business King Room (802) is actually a spacious, nicely furnished suite on the top floor. It's within easy walking distance of public transport.
The location is great. Right near the Powell Street BART station and Union Square. The rooms are cozy and have a nice victorian feel, but with modern updates.
If you need a cab, you are best to call for one instead of relying on flagging one down outside. Not many cabs come up 5th street empty, so it can be a very long wait.
It was close to at&t Park - a great walk to and from!
Really liked the convenient location of The Pickwick. It was close to the cable car, the Westfield Shopping Centre, Union Square and popular downtown attractions. The staff were helpful and courteous. Beds were very comfortable and rooms small but well equipped.
The hotel is very close to everything yet not in the middle of everything. The staff was efficient, cordial, accommodating and helpful.
It was close to the Moscone Center
Business center charged for internet access even though the room had free wifi. One of the 2 elevators were down for the entire 7 days I stayed at the hotel, which made long waits for the elevator. The elevator was also used by cleaning staff and I had to take the next elevator several times. Our first room had no knobs on the air conditioning, and had to wait 2 hours for maintenance to come to turn on ac.
the elevator gave a lot of problems
The hotel was horrible view of wall with bird droppings empty bear cans cigarettes. Peeled paint on walls, small bathrooms dirty, smelly rooms. No room service and the bathtub had chippings on it. Elevator was broken most of the time.
